Because I actually got to watch a round….

I thought that I would post the results from the 4th round of the finals last night.  Note that going in to the 4th round there were 5 riders who were 3 for 3 now there are only 2 riders who are 4 for 4 going into the 5th round of competion tonight (which I won’t get to see but that’s ok, I have saturday and sunday off so I will get to see who is crowned this years PBR World Champion!) 😉  If you go to pbrnow.com you can check out video, see interviews and even “visit” Adriano Moraes’ retirement party….Plus you can look at rider/bull profiles and put faces to the names too.

All season long everybody has been chasing Guilherme Marchi who is our current World number 1 in the standings.  The last three years he’s finished the finals in the number 2 spot and has come thisclose to winning the World Title to watch it slowly slip away from him.  Right now there are 4 possibly 5 guys (guys 2 through possibly 6 in the season standings) that could catch him and take the title away from him yet again.  But so far Guilherme and JB Mauney are the only two riders who have been flawless at the world finals.  There are actually two titles being competed for to be honest….The World Title (which there are only a few that realistically have a chance at) and the World Finals event win (which is the second greatest title to have in this sport).  The last three years it’s come down to the last day and the last bull to determine our World Champion so it’s getting very interesting, cause the guys who aren’t competeing for the World Title throw a monkey wrench into things too, plus there are all sorts of “bonus” points that factor in too.  I can hardly wait to see who comes out on top this year!

  1. Ahhh…some of my favorite boys are on that list! 🙂

I love me some J.B. Mauney…I have a video of him up on youtube!

A few years ago I stuck around after an event and got probably close to 30 autographs…although I was much more interested in how stinkin’ close they were to me! Love me some Cowboy Butt!

  2. I think Marchi is going to pull it out this year. I really hope so. He has earned it. I love me some Mike White!

  3. I’m just Glad Marchi Finally took one home after coming in 2nd place for so long.
